Our Approach
Providing clean drinking water in the Afar region of Ethiopia is uniquely challenging. Extreme heat, arid conditions, remote communities, and variable water quality mean there is no single solution that works everywhere.
At Drops of Hope, we believe lasting impact comes from understanding the environment first, then choosing the right solution - not the other way around.
Community-Led, Evidence-Based
We begin every project by working with local communities and partners to understand:
- Existing water sources and access
- Distance and time spent collecting
- Seasonal reliability of water
- Basic water quality and safety risks
This ensures solutions are appropriate, accepted, and sustainable for each location.
